My Journey of Moving to Pune: From Hostel Struggles to Flat Comfort
Moving away from home is always a big deal, especially when you are transitioning from one city to another. I experienced this firsthand when I moved from Bangalore to Pune after finishing my 12th grade. But looking back now, it’s been a long journey.
In the beginning, staying in a hostel was tough. The food was terrible, and adjusting to a new place without the comfort of home was hard. On top of that, the people I considered friends in the hostel turned out to be snakes, leaving me feeling pretty isolated and disappointed. It is crazy how sometimes, the people you trust the most end up being the ones who hurt you the most. After some time, I decided to move out of the hostel, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I ever made, even though the memories from those days were nothing short of the worst.
Once I moved into a flat in Pune, things started to look up. I some of the best people who made everything feel so much better. The vibe had completely changed, and even though I had my ups and downs, having amazing people around made it so much easier. And then there’s the unofficial roommate who visits.
Living in the flat gave me the freedom I never had in the hostel. I could cook my own meals, try new recipes, and just relax in my own space without any restrictions. It was such a huge relief to be able to enjoy those little things. Being able to create my own comfort zone, cook what I love, and not worry about the drama that often comes with hostel life made all the difference.
Still, I will not lie sometimes, I do miss my Bangalore home. There is something about it that will always have a special place in my heart. But as I have grown and experienced life in Pune, and learned to appreciate the journey, even the tough parts. Moving away from home was never easy, but it taught me a lot about myself and helped me find my own space in a new city.
So, yes, from hostel struggles to a peaceful flat, my move to Pune has been an unforgettable chapter of my life, full of lessons and growth. I havefound new comforts, new friends, and new memories, and while I might miss Bangalore sometimes, I am learning to call Pune my second home.
